The New Year’s is a time for rebirth. Instead of choosing the same regular resolutions again and again like losing weight, be with family and friends more, quit smoking and drinking try something different. Have a closer look at your life, focus on a specific aspect that needs a different approach, and pledge to work hard to make a change. Here are few resolutions that you might actually keep this year.
BE POSITIVE ON SOCIAL MEDIA
You need to stop posting negative things on Facebook and Twitter. If you really need to vent your frustration or anger, you need to choose a close family member or friend, but not the internet. Well it’s not good to be the source of negative information.
You know some cute looking guy at the gym and you always try to avoid an eye contact with him. Show some courage this year. Just go ahead and say "hi!" You never know what your first step could lead to.
GET RID OF FRENEMIES
It's time to cut off the ties with people you pretend to like but secretly hate them. You are not doing any favor on yourself or on your frenemy. Be around with people you actually enjoy spending time with, like family members, close friends, or yourself.
RETHINK SOCIAL MEDIA
Stop being obsessed about likes on your Instagram picture. If you liked that picture enough to post it that should be good enough for own self. If others also happen to like it too, then it is good for them. Your worth is not at all equivalent to how many likes you get or how many followers you have.
PAY IT FORWARD
Help a stranger out in need. You will never come to know what your small gesture meant to that person, but guaranteed it will make your day much better.
STOP THE OBSESSION WITH YOUR PHONE
Turn your phone off at lunch or dinner. Instead of uploading the pictures or letting the world know where you are? What you are eating? Simply live the present moment. Your phone should not be your lifeline. You are going to miss a lot of things happening around if you are constantly attached to technology.
TAKE A FASHION CHANCE
Try out the trends that you thought you could never pull off. Harem pants, floppy hats, and dark lipsticks! The world is in the palm of your hand, or behind your closet. All you need is confidence and then the world is at your feet.
SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES
Shop locally. Eat locally. Shopping at boutiques instead of chains store will save you a lot of money as they are not at all super expensive. You as consumers are in charge of the economy, so you know where your money is going.
VOCALIZE YOUR THOUGHTS
People do not have mind reading powers. For sure you need to speak your mind out. If you need commitment from your boyfriend, tell him in a non-psycho way. If you think you deserve a raise, prove it to your boss. In order to avoid your mom to micromanage your life, show her that you are an adult to take your own responsibility and can make good choices at least most of the time.
You should stop judging anyone on the basis of appearance. Don’t be so shallow. If next time you start judging someone, try to put yourself in his or her shoes. Do you like when people constantly criticize your style, your outfit, or appearance? No, right nobody like it? Then stop being so mean to others.
FOCUS ON FAMILY
Strengthen your relationships with family by spending some quality time with them. Holding to any fights or arguments which happened weeks back is not important? Leave the past behind be a big person, apologize, forget and move on.
BUILD YOUR SELF CONFIDENCE
You are your own critic. Stop pointing out time and again to the things you would like to change or the mistakes you have made in past. Focus on the things you love to do, aspects of your life that are going well, or obstacles you have overcome. You need to truly believe in yourself that you are a beautiful person, and then others will believe it too.
MAKE TIME FOR YOURSELF
Take some time out of your busy life to take care of yourself. Whether it's only about an hour at the salon, a morning jog, or a cup of coffee, unless you give yourself a moment to relax, you won’t realize how exhausted you are.
If you have ever worked as a waiter or waitress, you will be able to understand how stressful the job is. A good tip can totally turn around a bad day. An extra dollar can go a long way.
WATCH LESS TV
TV drains your energy and does nothing to elevate your mood. Go for walk around the area, learn something new, and organize your room, read a book of your favorite author. Once you realize that without mindless hours of TV your life can be productive and fun you will never go back to TV to be a couch potato.
