What is Pollution?
Pollution comes in different forms. There’s visible pollution that you can literally wipe off of your skin and see on your washcloth. All forms of pollution can collect on your skin and create an unhealthy barrier.
Pollution can be responsible for skin dryness, dullness, clogged pores, some allergic reactions, skin irritations, inflammation and skin aging. Pollutants can really affect our face, neck and hands. The air pollution is not a problem in one particluar part of the world but its all around the globe. It is not just bad for your lungs, it can also damage your hair and skin. Here's what you can do about it.
1. Wear Sunscreen
There’s never a reason not to wear sunscreen when going outside. As a friendly reminder, it’s imperative to always wear a sun block as shield not only against sun's UV rays but also to protect against pollutants in air.
2. Cleansing the Skin
Cleanse your face using baby oil or coconut oil on a cotton pad first followed by your face wash with cold water to make it more smooth, this ensure the deep cleansing from inside the pores pulling out even the stubborn bacteria settled on your skin. Restore it, using a toner to tighten the pores and a nourishing moisturiser.
3. Eat Vegeatbles Rich in Vitamin C & E
Supplement your diet with necessary anti-oxidants rich in Vitamin C & E which are excellent for skin texture eg, Brocolli, Spinach, Peanut butter, bell peppers, asparagus, sunflower seeds and almonds are rich in Vitamin C & E.
4. Stay Hydrated
Water is good for your body and great for your skin. By drinking more water, you can help keep your skin hydrated. Prepare a hydrating fluid for the skin care, cut few slices of watermelon, green apple etc and soak it your water bottle that you carry with you all day long and keep sipping. This keeps your skin extra hydrated with the presence of fruits and detox water helps clear skin from within to reverse the effect from pollution.
5. Use Face Mask
Apply face mask at night to replenish lost nutrients. For example papaya mask is rich in vitamins, anti-oxidants . Turmeric mask helps to clear skin. Potato mask help reduce dark circles and etc.
