Who doesn’t love freshly prepared fruit smoothie. Everyone loves a fruit smoothie; it is a great pre-workout snack if made with the correct ingredients. When making a workout smoothie, be sure not to add sugar, and focus mostly on fruits and vegetables that are high in protein and energy. Eggs On Toast

A great pre-workout snack is two eggs on whole wheat toast.  The presence of protein in the eggs will help with muscle building and repair, and the whole wheat toast gives you the energy to fuel your workout.

Protein Bar

Protein bars definitely are great for a busy day, make sure you are eating a correct one and not just glorified candy bar.  A protein bar should have at least 5 grams of protein and 200 calories approx. Make sure the sugar content isn't too much which can be hazardous to your health and that a majority of the ingredients present are natural.

For some amongst mouth-watering pasta this is seriously an enviable dish. Add palm-sized amount of roasted turkey with 3 to 4 avocado slices and add to half a cup of whole-wheat pasta.  This delicious dish has protein, healthy and required fats for the body, and necessary carbs!

Fruit And Cottage Cheese

Cottage cheese is low in calorie and rich in protein!  For the perfect pre-workout munchies combine your favorite fruit with half a cup of cottage cheese which is healthy and best in its taste.


Bananas are known to have all kinds of health benefits. Eating a few bananas before a workout maintains body's blood sugar and gives a great energy boost. Having bananas after or during a hard workout session can avoid the unwanted muscle cramps


Chickpeas have hummus which is counted too. This pre-workout snack contains complex carbohydrates and protein which are a great source of energy.


Chicken works great for a plain meal before exercising. It has proteins providing the body with the necessary nutrients, while not making you feel too filling. The carbohydrates then release to give the body energy.
